Dogue de Bordeaux

One of the oldest French breeds, the Dogue de Bordeaux is believed to have its origins back in the 14th century. Bred mainly in the Aquitaine area of France and used to hunt boar, fighting dog and herd watching.

These dogs are very powerful, stocky and athletic. They came close to extinction after suffering greatly during the two world wars.
